How to Make the best Happy Margarita Day!

February 22, is NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY!!

The margarita is a cocktail consisting of tequila mixed with triple sec and lime or lemon juice, often served with salt on the glass rim. It is the most common tequila-based cocktail in the United States. The drink is served shaken with ice, on the rocks, blended with ice (frozen margarita) or without ice (straight up)

The IBA (IBA Official list of Cocktails) standard is 7:4:3, that is, 50% tequila, 29% Triple Sec, 21% fresh lime or lemon juice. a.k.a:

3.5 cl (seven parts) tequila

2.0 cl (four parts) Cointreau or Triple Sec

1.5 cl (three parts) lemon or lime juice

Blue Margarita:

Ingredients:

One oz of blue Curacao

One oz of lime juice

Two oz of tequila

one oz of triple sec

Salt to taste

Lime cut in wedges

Glassware needed: A margarita glass

Directions:

Take a pitcher and mix all the ingredients. Stir well till the contents blend well. Instead of a pitcher, a cocktail shaker would be an ideal option too. You can add the ingredients to the cocktail shaker with ice. Serve the chilled drink in a margarita glass. Line the rim of the margarita glass with salt if desired. This adds an extra zing to the drink. Enjoy!

Frozen Virgin Margarita:

Ingredients:

4 cups ice cubes ¼ cup orange juice 6 ounces thawed limeade concentrate 4 wedges of lime 2 table spoons of coarse salt (Options for making this drink are lime juice in place of orange juice and for those who prefer it, 12 ounces of beer which is non alcoholic)

Directions:

Prepare the margarita glasses by rubbing the rim with a wedge of lime and dipping the rim on course salt which is placed on a plate allowing it to get coated.

Put the ingredients (except the beer) in a blender and blend on a high speed for a few minutes until it is blended well and the ice cubes crushed. If beer is being used pour part of it into the blender and blend it into the mixture. Pour the drinks evenly into the glasses and add the remaining beer to each glass. Put lime wedges on each glass rim and serve. Pour evenly into the glasses and garnish with the lime wedges. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Hpnotiq Margarita

Ingredients: 

Sour mix Sweet Lime juice Jose CuevroR especial gold tequila Triple Sec Hpnotiq liqueur

For one drink: • 1 ½ ounces lime juice • 1 ½ ounce Jose Cuervo® Especial Gold Tequila • 3 ounces Triple Sec • 3 ounces Hpnotiq Liqueur • Sweet and sour mix

Directions:

The ingredients for the drink should be poured into a glass which is of the Collins type which is filled with ice cubes in a certain order like the Hpnotic first, followed by triple sec, the Jose Cuervo gold tequila and then the lime juice. After this the glasses should be topped up with the sour and sweet mix and the margaritas served. Enjoy!
